Pretty Digital Unity Stamp Co on Vellum

Happy Friday Unies

Did you see what Angela has done now? Did you see all the delicious digital designs? See what I DiD there? Ha! Yes, I am slightly delirious with all these gorgeous digis!! Ok, being all serious now, but Angela has released digital stamps for us during this awful time. Thank goodness for a small business that loves us and t hank you for showing her love as well.

So, I hope we are getting more comfortable with printing and coloring stamps. Have you tried printing in color or on colored card stock? Now what about printable vellum? Here are a few examples:

In This Together digital stamp is just gorgeous. I printed the digi on Clear printable vellum that I bought from Hobby Lobby a year ago. For the base, I used 110lbs Neenah Desert Storm at 4 x 5.25. Then I die cut a black frame and used Connect adhesive glue to  adhere it to the vellum. Cut off the  overhanging vellum. Under the black frame and vellum, I added a thin line of dimensional foam and adhered it to the base. The sentiment was also printed on vellum and I used ICraft Tape Runner underneath the vellum and applied it on top of a piece of white card stock. Add some gems and your done.

All the “pretty paper hoarders” this card is for you. I used the white “letterboard” looking paper from the Rustic Wood Paper pack underneath the sentiment digi stamp printed on vellum from the Pray More set. I used Neenah Desert storm for the frame and popped the whole thing up with dimensional foam tape.

So we come to my favorite card for the blog, the girls on the swing.
I printed the girls from the There will be sunshine stamp  and placed a silver frame on top. I added two more white frames underneath the vellum to give the card some dimension. Use adhesive glue that dries clear and for the ability to move it into the right spot. You can add clouds with distress oxide or Gina K ink right onto the top folding A2 card.

I love using these stamps even though I am a red rubber girl. But since this is only available for a limited time during all this mess, I ask that you would at least give it a go. Everyone at Unity and the girls on the design team will help you, even if we have to get Nic involved to fix a problem. 😉

I love seeing all your digital creations!!!

His and Hers

Happy Germ-Free Friday

In the midst of all the panic and unknown, we can always come to our craft rooms and create a safe space and some awesome cards! Also, I am now addicted to foiling so let’s make two cards with one toner card front!!

I am using one card front from the Circles a Plenty pack and will show you two ways of foiling.

Card with dress

After letting the laminator heat up for a little bit, feed the printed cardstock with foil (shiny side on top) inside a folded piece of printer paper. Take note of the lines on the back of the foil; you want the lines to be horizontal as you are feeding it through the laminator. Also, add another piece of cardstock underneath the card front for extra pressure. This will give you excellent results every time.

The dress (from the new Kit of the Month, March 2020)  is heat embossed with silver and fussy cut, layered over a circle die (I believe from Spellbinders?) cut out of vellum. The sentiment “Hello beauty” is from the “…every single day” sentiment kit which is also heat embossed with Hero Arts Silver Sparkle embossing powder. Layer with white and blue cardstock and place dimensional foam tape under the dress for a pop of interest.

Card with Jeep

Now that you are left with the negative foil from using it above, let’s make another card! But first, we have to play with Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo. Apply gel evenly to an A2 piece of 110lbs card stock (Neenah Desert Storm). I have found that 80lbs paper does not hold up as it curls and tears easily. Leave for it for at least an hour to dry! This is very important! If i’s still wet, the foil and paper will tear off together.

Once it is dry, place the negative foil on top of the gelled card and repeat the process through the laminator. You can also run this panel through your embossing machine. The gel makes the paper sticky in a way so the foil will adhere. Then take two top folding A2 cards and cut a circle through the front of one. Cut the same size circle through the foiled panel. Flip the other A2 around so the fold is on the bottom.

Stamp the Jeep, from the Scout Adventure stamp set, on the upside down card so that is shows through the circle. Color with Copics and stamp the sentiment. I used Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide for the sky. Cut 1/4 inch off the ends of this upside down card because this will help the card fold better and not get hung up on top. Use liquid adhesive to wiggle the card in place.

I hope you enjoyed this post! You can make Him and Her sets for weddings, showers and… boy/girl twins! 😉 Have a great weekend!!

Three cards Three styles

I am so excited to share with you Unity’s newest venture into the world of FOILING! We have an Instagram Blog Hop on Monday, March 9th, and I hope you can join us to see all the new releases paired with the various Toner card fronts!

So, how does this work and how can I use it? Each A2 pack contains 8 card fronts with a design in toner ink on white card stock. You will need a laminator and foil to use these products. You can also add color to these white card fronts, like I have done here.

I applied color before the foiling process to not dull the shine of the foil. Also, If you use dye ink or distress oxide, make sure you clean off excess color and heat set before foiling. Don’t ruin your Copic tips by coloring after foiling.

I made three cards today.  I took the three panels above (already colored and foiled) and used the new Purple tape with lower tack to combine and align the card fronts. I used two funky wavy dies and cut all three card fronts at the same time with my Gemini Jr.

You end up with 9 pieces which I glued together like a puzzle onto 3 different A2 card panels. Use a liquid adhesive to move the pieces together into the right position. Now I have 3 panels with 3 different colors on each.

For the first card, I added a stitched frame and adhered to a black background. The sentiment, mounted with dimensional foam tape, is from the Letterboard Quotes stamped with Altenew Antique Gold. I also added some wire for visual interest.

For my second card, I used an embossing folder to add some trippy dimension and mounted with dimensional foam tape on the back. This itty bitty, Undies in a Bundle, was perfect for such a busy and shiny background. I added vellum behind the undies to refocus the card.

My last card had to be a shaker. Cut a frame from the panel and TURN it so the colors are opposite from each other. This just made it a bit different and is more visually appealing. The Hello die with shadow is from Sizzix Thinlits.

I hope you like these cards and will check out our Foil selection in the store!

Happy Crafting!

Hey you!

If you have been following my cards this month you have probably noticed that I am trying to use my scraps. Cut out frames, uncolored embossed images and cut out sentiments litter my table. What better way to bring those unused treasures and make it into one stunning card?

I have a slight obsession with this Delectable border background. It’s a perfect stamp for the upcoming celebrations like weddings, Easter and Mother’s Day cards.

This may look like a complicated card but it’s quite simple.

Here is what I did:

White heat emboss one image on watercolor paper. Heat emboss another image on white 110lbs card stock with WOW Primary Dovetail Regular embossing powder. Cut the latter to 4 x 5.25 and adhere to a topfolding 4.25 x 5×5 Neenah Desert Storm (110lbs) card stock base. Set aside.

Die cut 3 frames using stitched rectangle dies from the same Desert Storm card stock. Attach using liquid adhesive to move the frames until they are lined up. The “hey you” sentiment is from Picket Fence Studios. It has a shadow to the words; use vellum for this. I used green metallic card stock for the words. Adhere and  set aside.

Now for the middle part. Take the embossed image on water color paper and color with water colors. You can also use Distress Oxides with water for this. I am a poor watercolorist. But a trick I have learned is that if you use two or three shades of the same color and dab it on here and there, you achieve some depth, “accidentally”! Make sure to dry this before the next step.

Use a craft knife and cut out the white center along the leaves and roses. I did not take great care in doing this, but make sure your lines are clean and not jagged. Now, it’s easy after this.

Take your 3 frames you have glued together earlier and position it over the center of the roses. See where you have the most flowers inside the frame and glue the frame to the roses. Following the outside line of the frame, cut off the excess paper. To add some shine to the middle, use acetate, or even vellum. This acetate already had some silver foiled dots on it, so BONUS! Adhere the acetate to the back of your frame. Cut along the outside of the frame and trim the acetate. This also gives some stability to the flowers.

Finally, add your sentiment. I used Therm-o-web Tape Runner XL Permanent on the back of the vellum. This tape does not leave sticky marks on vellum or acetate! Adhere all this to the top folding card with strong double sided tape.

Have a great weekend!

All I want want for Christmas…

Happy Saturday!
I hope you like my card featuring this beautiful and sweet Love you more Christmas Frost stamp and die set.

Love you More - Christmas Frost 4x8

This was a very simple card to make. Basic shaker elements, a little bling and a beautiful stamp. I feel it is necessary to buy the coordinating die as even my Brother Scan N Cut had some difficulty cutting the space in between the lovebirds.

I used Copic markers for the stamp and red and silver mirror card stock for the background. The frame inside is easy to create; MFT carries a metal die set that will cut three different sizes of frames. I used the medium size for the silver frame.
Quick Tip: If you use shakers and want some shakers to stay more to the top instead of all being at their feet, glue some shaker elements with some clear glue.

The new release is around the corner and if you love this couple as much as I do, you don’t want to miss it!

Hope to see you around and keep on crafting!
Hugs and Kisses,

Release day 2: Merry Pigmas Slider

You have seen that Geico add with the pig hanging out the window and going WHHEEEE! My inspiration comes from a lot of weird places!!! LOL! Here he is skiing down a snowy hill!

Here is what I did:
1. Make your background look like a ski slope. I used Tumbled Glass Distress oxide and masking paper to make the slopes.
2. Use a ” Merry” die, this is from Spellbinders, and cut the word randomly across the cardstock.
3. Stamp, cut and color the pig. I used Copics, glossy accents and Wink of Stella for some shine.
4. Use a kinetic die, mine is from Lawn Fawn, and create a slider.
5. To make some snow, use white Liquid Pearls and make “snow” everywhere.
