Growing in Unity Day 1

I would like to think that I rock motherhood, being a wife, a working mom, a decent human being. I am also aware that sometimes we all suck at these things and have to be reminded that “we are pretty cool”, as Mr. Gru from Despicable Me would say. Can you tell I am a mom?

Here is my “You Rock” Katie Girl from Angie Blom.

Stamp image and clear heat emboss.

I like to make backgrounds for all these girls. The use of masking makes it easy to create any atmosphere to your creations. I used Simon Says Stamp masking paper.
I thought it was a good deal because you get a stack of them for fairly cheap.
Fussy cut a separate copy of the stamp. Apply over the girl.
I am using the drum set to make her really ” Rocking”!
Free set from a Paper Crafter magazine 2018
Stamp the drums with a grey ink to make it appear more in the background.
The black outline of the girl will then pop more.
Stamp on masking paper and fussy cut. It was easy with this knife and self healing mat. Apply this mask over the drum set and the girl.
For the background, My Favorite Things has this awesome brick large stamp.
Again, stamp and clear heat emboss over entire image.
Using these distress oxides imaged, I color my bricks.
Apply another piece of masking to distinguish the wall from the floor.
You are almost there! Now the fun coloring starts! I am using Copics.
Guitar colors.
I used a red shimmer pen for the instruments.
Inside sentiment that comes with this stamp set. I used the Tonic Stamp Platform because it gives the ability to make my sentiment darker.
I couldn’t decide if I wanted a sentiment on the outside, so I settled with a silver star on a foam adhesive for some dimension.

I hope you enjoyed this creation. It took about two hours to make between dinner and children! Check out my for all types of creations!

Have a great Monday!!!

Celebrate women, sisters, friends and the mom that has her hands full.

This is for the lady who helped me yesterday. With my two trollies full of stuff, two toddlers in tow, she saw me struggle and helped. She saw a need and graciously offered to stay with one trolley while I went to get the car. Instead, she walked with me and happily helped a mother out. I salute you, older wiser mom who understands that it takes a village to raise a generation who will take care of each other.

So very ready for summer!

I love using new mediums! Ranger’s alcohol inks on Yupo paper blend and run together beautifully. I used the creamsicle stamp from Unity Stamp Company’s Kit of the Month for February.

Here is a quick happy fix

Unity Stamp company sells $10 grab bags that contain sentiments, mixed media elements or little critters. You never know what is in that surprise bag!

Since I’m trying to not accumulate more unused stamps, I decided to pair this sentiment and bunny together.

Have a great evening and brighten someone day tomorrow with a happy card!
