Release day 3: Hoo needs Caffeine?

I like coffee. I also like gin and tonic. Social etiquette says I have to choose one depending on the time of day. Does it matter that I was born on a different continent with a 7 hours time difference? These are the questions that I ponder…….

Bringing us back to coffee…LOOK AT THIS OWL!!! Oh my goodness, isn’t this the cutest thing? This little fluffy thing is available now!

Caffeinated: Owl Clear Stamp 3x4

This Caffeinated Owl is available at the Rabbit Hole Designs store
and at Simon Says Stamp.

Circles & Stars - 6x6 Stencil
Find this Circles and Stars stencil at either store as well.

  1. This is a top folding 4.25 x 5.5 card
  2. Cut another 4.25 x 5.5 white heavy card stock. This is what you will be working with.
  3. Stamp the owl a little cockeyed off the page with Gina K Amalgam Jet Black Ink
  4. Color the owl with Copics. I used W1, W3 and W5 markers
  5. Make a mask using masking paper and fussy cut
  6. Mask the owl and then use Distress Oxides (Chipped Sapphire, Black Soot and Seedless Preserves)
  7. Use the Circles and Stars stencil and Hero Arts Unicorn White ink
  8. Remove the mask and touch up the edges on the owl (if needed)
  9. The tree branches are from MFT, use a white gelly pen to mimic the stars reflection
  10. Stamp the sentiment and die cut with a SSS banner die
  11. Adhere to card base with simple double sided tape

This card was super simple to make. I tried to mask it off and was quite successful until I messed up the background. So plan B, cut and paste! Here is what I did:

  1. Top folding card, 4.25 x 5.5 from Neenah 110 lbs Classic Crest card stock
  2. Use a separate 4.25 x 5.5 piece of white card stock and emboss it with a Sunny Studios starburst embossing folder
  3. Use Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide and apply generously over the embossed image
  4. Use a finger dobber to apply Gold Nuvo Mousse over the sunrays. Let this dry
  5. Stamp 5 Boxers with Gina K Amalgam Jet Black ink. This ink is safe for Copic use.
  6. Either fussy cut or use a Scan N Cut to cut out these 5 pups.
  7. Color them with different colors and think of how you want to place them so that two of the same pants/gown/coffee cup colors aren’t next to each other. This will be visually more interesting
  8. Ground the pups by placing some green “grass” on the bottom. You can use a border die to make it look like grass
  9. Use dimensional double sided tape to adhere the three dogs in the front and regular double sided tape for the ones in the background
  10. For the sentiment, I used Versafine Clair ink and a banner die. Attach with dimensional foam

Here is how I made this fun shaker:
1. Top folding card from Neenah White Card stock 110 lbs
2. Glue a nice patterned paper onto the card
3. Die cut two pieces of white card stock smaller than the actual card. One is for the stamped image and the other is to complete the “sandwich” to keep the glitter in
4. Stamp the stamp with Gina K Amalgam Jet Black ink
5. Using a craft knife, carefully cut out the centers of the cups and the pot
6. I used Copics to color my image. Make sure to color the insides where you cut out the centers

7. Place acetate big enough to cover the cut out areas on the back and adhere with double sided tape
8. Use dimensional tape and make small pockets for each cup for the glitter to stay in. So for each cup, make sure the tape is closed off.
9. I used Michaels Chunky Glitter for the inside
10. Sandwich/glue the two white card stock pieces. The shaker is now complete
11. Stamp the sentiment with Versafine Claire. I used the Scan N Cut to cut out the Brewtiful image. Used dimensional tape to adhere it to the edge of the card

Hey you swinging Gourd-geous thang!

Release day 3 is here and I have a Jack-o’-Lantern swinging by to scare you!

The Rabbit Hole Designs’ ladies are at it again! This gourdgeous pumpkin can be added to cards, treat bags, tags and anywhere pumpkin spice lovers unite! This stamp can be found at the The Rabbit Hole Designs store and our new friend, Simon Says Stamp.

Every order placed at The Rabbit Hole Designs store will be eligible for a 10% discount. Discount Code TRHD2019 this code will only be accepted until Friday 08-30-2019 12:01 am PST. EXCLUDES Dies and Crafters Essentials. Not applicable to previous orders. May be used more than once. Does not apply to shipping and tax.

This top folding 4.25 x 5.5 card is made by using this stamp, glitter gel, a stencil and a swing mechanism. Here is what I did:

  • First, I used The Crafter’s Workshop Small Aspen Trees stencil and spread Gina K glitter gel over a 6×6 heavy duty card stock. Wash your stencil. Let this result dry.
  • Stamp, color and cut the gourd. I left off the little shadow on the bottom on the pumpkin – this on is going places!!
  • Cut the components of the interactive swing from My Favorite Things. I used acetate for the “swing” part to make it look even spookier! There are Youtube videos on how to use this awesome die!
  • The die set also includes these cloud dies; cut a black and purple set and adhere them a bit offset.
  • Stamp the sentiment.
  • Ensure the gel is dry. Line up the black and purple “clouds” to the stencil result. The die is only 4″ across. Match the size of the clouds to the stencil and cut accordingly. There will be a nice white border on the left and right sides of your card.
  • Take a separate 4.25 x 5.5 card stock and die cut a circle on the lower part of the card stock. You will use this to color the background.
  • Place the card stock (without the circle) over the stenciled background and use a yellow-ish Distress oxide to create the moon.
  • Place the circle you just cut out and place over the yellow moon. Use Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide to create the background. Work from the circle to the outside.
  • Build your swing, adhere the sentiment and watch that baby swing! If you want the pumpkin to swing even stronger, place a penny on the back of the gourd.

I have a second card that only takes a few minutes to make. Simple fussy cut, added dimensional tape and a spooky background piece of paper.

Remember to stamp the sentiment before you place dimensional tape behind the card stock. I used the Versafine Claire stamp pad.

The only thing you may or may not have in your stash is the rectangle, stitched die from My Favorite Things. I have added the link to Simon Says Stamp.

Boo to you

Welcome to Day 2 of our new release blog hop! I have two kitty cat cards that may remind you of the black cat crossing your road!!

This stamp is available at The Rabbit Hole Designs and now at Simon Says Stamp!

Receive this free gift when ordering from Simon Says Stamp!

Click on the image to go to the store!

This first card is similar to my Sassy Unicorn card where I used a stencil and a cutout on the bottom right to highlight the newest stamp. Here is what I did and links to products I used:

  1. First, I applied black Gina K Designs Glitz Glitter gel over the Puzzle Box stencil on heavy duty card stock. Clean the stencil and let it dry.
  2. I stamped and colored the cat with the orange background with Copics. Stamp it on a 4.25 x 5.5 piece of card stock near the bottom corner and glue that on a top folding 4.25 x 5.5 card.
  3. I stamped Happy Halloween separately and cut them using a rectangle die.
  4. Position and cut a circle die large enough to show the cat on the stenciled card stock.
  5. Adhere the two pieces with double sided tape. Finally adhere the sentiments.

REMEMBER: Every order placed with The Rabbit Hole Designs will be eligible for a 10% discount. Discount Code TRHD2019 this code will only be accepted until Friday 08-30-2019 12:01 am PST. EXCLUDES Dies and Crafters Essentials. Not applicable to previous orders. May be used more than once. Does not apply to shipping and tax.

The second card is a little less labor intensive and is even easier to make.

  1. Repeat stamp BOO! across the 4.25 x 5.5 card stock. I did this free hand but you can use a ruler and pencil lines.
  2. I used a 4 x 5.25 rectangle die to make it just a little smaller than the top folding 4.25 x 5.5 card.
  3. Spray the BOO card stock with Sheer Shimmer Spritz for a little sparkle.
  4. Stamp, cut and color the cat with Copics.
  5. Cut a piece of 24 gauge wire in black and silver and loop them in a circle.
  6. Place the cat on dimensional foam tape and adhere over where the wire ends connect.

GIVEAWAYS: To celebrate day 2 of inspiration The Rabbit Hole Designs is giving away the stamp set’s Pumpkin Hair don’t Care and Boo to You, to One lucky winner. Hex-yeah

It’s already time for copious amounts of candy and a chance for our alter egos to shine through silly costumes. It’s also time for a brand new release from The Rabbit Hole Designs. I made you two cards to bring out your inner witch!

This release is also available at Simon Says Stamp. And if you order from Simon Says Stamp, you will receive this free gift with purchase.

This top folding 4.25 x 5.5 card was easy to make and I used some simple card making techniques.

  • Black heat emboss the lovely legs stamp on a 4.25 x 5.5 card stock.
  • Make a mask for the stamp. I used SSS masking paper. Fussy cut and apply to the stamp.
  • I used the Fluffy Cloud die from Sunny Studios and made my own “border stencil” to mimic clouds in the sky.
  • Purple and pink Distress oxides help give the clouds that “fluffy” look.
  • Cut the colored skies card stock at an angle with the Fluffy Cloud die.
  • Remove the mask and color the stamp. I used Copics. (Disclaimer: I have heard that coloring heat embossed images with Copics is a no-no because it destroys the nibs.)
  • Stamp the sentiment with Versfine Black Onyx in the right corner of the top folding card.
  • Randomly stamp bats with the same ink.
  • Attach the colored card stock to the card base with double sided tape or liquid adhesive.

Easy techniques but quite a dramatic result!

Make sure you come back tomorrow for Day 2 of our Inspiration Hop.

Every order placed will be eligible for a 10% discount. Discount Code TRHD2019 this code will only be accepted until Friday 08-30-2019 12:01 am PST. EXCLUDES Dies and Crafters Essentials. Not applicable to previous orders. May be used more than once. Does not apply to shipping and tax.

Here is the second one that is just a shaking!

  1. I created the background by using black Gina K Designs Glitz Glitter Gel and the Diamond Flower Stencil.
  2. I sloppily applied the gel on a heavy duty card stock big enough to cover a 4.25 x 5.5. top folding card. Clean and dry the stencil.
  3. Stamp, cut and color the stamp. Stamp the sentiment.
  4. Once the gel is dry on the paper, use a frame die, like the MFT Square stitched frames, and make a shaker using a sheet of acetate.
  5. Adhere dimensional tape to the back of the frame.
  6. Add sequins to the center and adhere the frame enclosing the sequins.
  7. Use double sided tape on the stamp and the sentiment and you’re done!

Fly, fly away with me!

Good Morning! Ready to make something pretty??

I am coming out of my glitter fort to bring you this awesome shiny card. Grab your laminator, foil and this gorgeous stamp!

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 20190724_1943247629936033019033289.jpg

This is a very doable card, it took about two hours to do everything.

This is a top folding 4.25 x 5.5 card.

I used the previously released Love you More stamp and one of the new stencils, Candy Twist, to make the background.

Click on the images to go to the store. Also, these stamps and stencils are also now available at Simon Says Stamp!

Place the 6×6 stencil over a sheet of Neenah cardstock 110lb paper, or any other heavy duty cardstock. I use washi tape to keep everything in place but Pixie Spray is pretty handy here. Smear the transfer gel evenly across the stencil and paper using a craft knife or old credit card. Immediately wash the stencil in warm soapy water to avoid hardening of the gel. Set this aside and allow the gel to dry for about an hour. Switch on your laminator. Give it a good 20 minutes to heat up before use.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 20190724_1944124026818366040905272.jpg

Now, stamp, cut and color your pretty people and buildings. I used Copics and didn’t focus too much on the detail. The main attraction of this card will be the foiled stencil result. For the background, I used a green and blue distress oxide palette. Nothing fancy, just enough to peak through.

Vellum “paper” is a fantastic way to soften any card. I used a fluffy cloud metal die from Sunny Studios to cut clouds for the top and the bottom. Using black StazOn ink, stamp the sentiment on the vellum. This ink is amazing as it is PERMANENT! Give it a second to dry.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 20190724_1944011276829069687109925.jpg

Make sure the transfer gel is dry. Place a piece of red foil large enough to cover over the cardstock. Depending on your laminator (***please read your instructions***) place the foil and dried gel cardstock through the laminator.

Some machines require you to place your product in a piece of parchment paper to run through the machine.

Using the fluffy cloud die, cut two pieces from the red foiled product that match the vellum pieces.

Adhere the vellum to the red with a little overlap, and then to the card. Cut off excess paper to match the card size. Place the people on dimensional tape and use regular adhesive for the buildings.

I hope you have a fantastic day and appreciate you supporting a new and small business! We are all so excited that you are here growing with us!

Leave me a comment and tell me what you think!

Ta-ta!
